[Scenes from 7X12: Extreme Makeover: World Edition]
[INT. MAGIC SCHOOL - STUDY -- DAY]
(Paige questions Alpha and Gamma about the specifics of the transformation of
the world into Utopia.)
PAIGE: The spell that we're going to cast - what exactly does it do?
[INT. MAGIC SCHOOL - GREAT HALL -- DAY]
(The sisters hold onto the cartouche while the avatars hold hands in a circle
around them. Their eyes are closed.)
(A bright light starts from the center of the cartouche and shoots upward.)
ALPHA: (v.o.) The spell will put everyone to sleep, ...
[EXT. MOSCOW (RUSSIA) - NIGHT - CONTINUOUS]
(The moving light passes through Russia.)
ALPHA: (v.o.) ... but only for a few hours.
[EXT. TOKYO (JAPAN) - NIGHT - CONTINUOUS]
(The moving lights pass through Japan.)
ALPHA: (v.o.) Just long enough to erase the mindset of good and evil.
[EXT. SAN FRANCISCO CITY - DAY - CONTINUOUS]
(The moving lights reach all around the world and back to San Francisco.)
(The pass over the people walking on the busy sidewalks. As the lights leave,
the people on the sidewalks gently sit down on the ground into a slumber.)
(Cut to: A top view down of the city streets to show that the city has fallen
asleep.)
[ALPHA]
ALPHA: Utopia.
TRIQUETRA FLASH TO:
[INT. UNDERWORLD - ZANKOU'S CAVE]
(Zankou stands in front of the burning fire, his arms spread out wide, palms
upward. His eyes are closed. Laygan sits in front of him. )
ZANKOU: Utopia has begun.
Cut to:
(Laygan stands near his things ready to pack and bolt.)
LAYGAN: We don't stand a chance in this new world.
ZANKOU: Still, we planted a seed. Let's see if it sprouts.
[INT. BRODY'S APARTMENT - LIVING ROOM -- DAY]
(Kyle picks up the snow globe from his parents. He shakes it and watches the
glitter inside fall. )
TRIQUETRA FLASH TO:
[Scene from 7X11: Ordinary Witches]

(Piper and Leo talk with Alpha.)
ALPHA: Agent Brody is not the only problem that we face.
[Scene from 7X10: Witchness Protection]
[INT. UNDERWORLD - CAVERN]
(Demonic particles swirl around and converge into Zankou.)
ALPHA: (v.o.) Even as we speak, the demon Zankou is mobilizing the underworld
...
[Scene from 7X11: Ordinary Witches]
[INT. MANOR - FOYER / MAIN HALL - DAY]
ALPHA: ... to try and stop us as well.
[Scene from 7X12: Extreme Makeover: World Edition]
(Kyle raises his arm to throw the potion at Beta. Beta's eyes widen as she
watches him.)
(Suddenly, Beta moves and throws a bolt of electricity at Kyle hitting him dead
center in his chest.)
(Kyle drops the potion as he flies backward hitting the counter. He hits the
floor with a thud.)
(The potion bottle smashes on the floor and breaks. Black smoke is released and
immediately finds Beta.)
(It enters her through her nose and she falls to the floor, dead.)
(Cut to: Paige kneels down next to Kyle.)
(Cut to: Alpha and Gamma look at each other. They both turn and look at Paige.
Their eyes glow.
TRIQUETRA FLASH TO:
[INT. MANOR - DINING ROOM -- DAY]
(Phoebe and Piper go over to Paige.)
PHOEBE: How you doing? You hanging in there?
PAIGE: Yeah. I'm holding up. But he's going on to a better place, right?
(Camera holds on Leo as he watches them knowing that something isn't right.)

FADE IN.
[EXT. STREET -- DAY]
(Top View Down of the street intersection and the cars that pass each other -
left to right - up and down - the cars move in an orderly fashion, alternating
with each other, miraculously avoiding any conflict or accident.)
(Cut to: A line of girls all dressed in gray clothing walk down the sidewalk,
turn and cross the street in an orderly fashion. They high-five the group of
other children crossing the same street in the opposite direction, greeting them
in a friendly, yet orderly manner.)
GIRL 1: Hey.
GIRL 2: Hey.
GIRL 3: Hey.
GIRL 4: Hey.
GIRL 5: Hey.
(Cut to: Three people sit harmoniously on a sidewalk bench. The two men and
one woman all have their legs cross, each reading their own newspaper or
magazine. Behind them, people walk across the sidewalk in an orderly manner.)
(Alpha, Leo and Gamma walk just behind the people on the sidewalk bench.)
ALPHA: Look at them all, Leo. Without knowing why, things just seem ... better
today. Even though they don't yet realize that everything is different.
GAMMA: Of course there will be a transitional period. But soon they will begin
to understand that they no longer have to worry about evil, security, conflict.
That this world is here to stay.
ALPHA: Is it not what we spoke of, Leo?
(Across the street, they see a woman drop her bag of oranges, the fruit rolls
all over the sidewalk. Immediately five men each stop and help gather the
fruit.)
LEO: It's impressive.
(They continue walking down the sidewalk.)
ALPHA: And you know, the only threat to Utopia, to all that we've created here,
is conflict. And that, Leo ... we simply cannot abide.
LEO: I don't know. It's just the way the sisters reacted, especially Paige ...
GAMMA: She grieves.
LEO: I know, but not the way she's supposed to. It just ... it doesn't seem
right.
ALPHA: Well, things are different, Leo, to be sure ... but look around you now.
Is not everyone better off? Are not the sisters better off?
LEO: I don't know.
ALPHA: Then you must go to them, Leo. They're the people who mean the most to
you. See for yourself, understand. It's all good, Leo. It's all ... genuine.
GAMMA: But once you're satisfied, it is important that you return to us.
LEO: Important? Why?
GAMMA: After the death of one of our own, The Collective has been drained of
power. You feel it, too, do you not?
LEO: Yes.
ALPHA: And so the sooner you're reassured, satisfied, the sooner you can join
us and help us maintain all of this. We have much work to do, Leo.
LEO: What kind of work?
ALPHA: You'll see. When you're ready, you'll sense where to find us.
(Gamma nods. Leo walks past them.)
(Meanwhile, just across the street, a driver stands outside his truck arguing
with an officer.)
POLICE OFFICER: Please calm down, sir.
WIFE: Harold, get back in the car.
HAROLD: I'm telling you, the light was yellow, just like last time! What, do
you guys have it out for me?
(Gamma and Alpha watch from the sidewalk.)
WIFE: Harold, please.
HAROLD: (shouts) No! This is ridiculous! It's police harassment! I want
your name and badge number!
(Alpha and Gamma turn to leave.)
(Suddenly, Harold vanishes from existence.)
(Alpha and Gamma definitely see it. They, however, turn and continue down the
stairs.)

ROLL TITLE CREDITS
(COMMERCIAL SET)
FADE IN.
[EXT. VARIOUS SAN FRANCISCO SCENES (STOCK) - DAWN TO SUNRISE]
(The sun rapidly rises.)
[EXT. VARIOUS SAN FRANCISCO SCENES (STOCK) - DAY]
[EXT. HALLIWELL MANOR (STOCK) - DAY]
[INT. MANOR - KITCHEN -- DAY]
(Top View Down of the Manor kitchen. Piper and Phoebe are both mixing something
in the bowls they carry. They walk around the kitchen island in a counter-
clockwise direction, each on the opposite end of the island mirroring the
other's movement. They're in perfect sync with each other, fluid and
harmonious.)
PHOEBE: It's ready.
PIPER: So's this.
(They walk to their end of the island and place their bowls on the counter, each
facing the other.)
(Phoebe picks up the bowl to her left to add its contents to her batter.)
(Piper picks up the bowl to her right to add its contents to her batter.)
(They both continue mixing.)
PIPER: Um, butter?
(Without breaking her rhythm and without looking up, Phoebe grabs the block of
butter off the counter with her right hand and throws it to Piper ... who easily
catches it with her right hand without looking up from her mixing bowl.)
(Phoebe finishes, picks up her bowl and turns to head over to the counter. She
stops when Leo orbs into the kitchen in front of her, breaking her stride.)
PHOEBE: Hey, you're breaking the flow. Move it.
(Leo steps aside.)
LEO: Sorry.
(Phoebe continues her stride to the counter.)
PIPER: Where have you been?
LEO: With the other Avatars, making sure everything went all right.
PIPER: Why wouldn't it?
LEO: You tell me. How are you guys doing?
PHOEBE: Are you kidding? I feel great. (Phoebe picks up the pie crust pan and
opens the oven door.) Better than I have in -- God, I don't even know how long.
(She puts the pie crust in the oven and closes the door. Piper picks up the pan
of finished cookies.)
PIPER: Six and a half years, but who's counting?
PHOEBE: Of course, we haven't been out in the real world yet, but -
PIPER: If it feels anything like it does in here --
PHOEBE: Then we have no complaints.
PIPER: None. Actually, we're gonna celebrate. We're gonna have a little party.
LEO: A party? Today?
PHOEBE: Yeah. Why not?
LEO: I don't know, maybe you just wanted to make sure that everything worked
all right.
PHOEBE: Leo, it works. Better than we expected. Besides, we have a lot of
catching up to do, especially with our friends.
PIPER: Yeah, I'm a little nervous. I'm not sure I know how to socialize with
normal people.
PHOEBE: Oh, you'll be fine. Especially since no demons will be attacking.
LEO: They're still out there.
PHOEBE: Yeah, but they won't be attacking. They're all on the run. Come on,
just enjoy it. We have you to thank for all this.
LEO: How's Paige?
PIPER: Better, I think.
PHOEBE: It's gonna take her some time, though. Kyle meant a lot to her.
PIPER: But it does help her to know that he's gone on to a better place.
PHOEBE: Absolutely.
LEO: Is she upstairs?
PHOEBE: She's at Kyle's apartment getting some stuff.
(Phoebe takes her apron off.)
PHOEBE: And I think I'm gonna go to work and check out the real world.
(Phoebe leaves the kitchen.)
LEO: All right. Well, I'm gonna go check on Paige.
(Leo orbs out.)
PIPER: Okay, you two, but don't be late!
(Piper picks up the bowl of salt and sprinkles it into her mixture.)
FADE TO:
[INT. BRODY'S APARTMENT - LIVING ROOM - DAY]
(The little glitter pieces of snow in the snow globe fall.)
(Camera pans out and we see Paige holding the snow globe and looking sadly at
the small figure. She's lost in her thoughts.)
(Leo orbs into the room behind her.)
LEO: Hey. How you holding up?
(Paige turns around.)
PAIGE: Good, considering. (She puts the snow globe down.) I'm not really sure
what to do with all of his stuff, though.
LEO: Well, that's not really your responsibility, is it?
PAIGE: Well, no, but he doesn't have a family. It's just so odd that he's
gone. I miss him.
(She continues packing Kyle's things.)
LEO: Good. I -- I mean, that's normal. You don't want to go around just
having it all be glossed over, you know.
PAIGE: No. But still ... I am happy for him. (Leo watches Paige, concerned
for her.) I mean, he is in a better place. (Leo looks down knowing that
something is terribly, terribly wrong here. Paige continues to pack Kyle's
things away.) And the thing is, he would really want me to enjoy this new
world.
LEO: Well, he died trying to stop it.
PAIGE: Well, that's why I owe it to him to be happy.
(She smiles at Leo.)
LEO: Of course.
(Leo swallows.)
(Paige picks up a pair of her high-heeled shoes.)
PAIGE: Hey, I have to go home and get ready for the party. You gonna come?
LEO: I think so.
PAIGE: Great. I will see you there, sir.
(Paige orbs out.)
(Leo walks over to the box and picks up the snow globe. He looks at it.)
(Through the globe's reflection, a bright orange light shines. We hear the
sound of a demon flaming into the room.)
(Leo turns around and sees Zankou flaming into the room. He materializes.)
(Leo turns around and fires streams of electricity at him. The electricity hits
Zankou square in the chest, throwing him against the far wall in the small
kitchen.)
ZANKOU: Unh!
(Leo stops. Zankou turns around and looks at Leo. He advances slowly toward
Leo.)
ZANKOU: You've been weakened, Avatar, by the death of one of your own.
(Zankou uses his own powers and hurls Leo back against the far living room wall.
Leo hits it with a thud and falls to the ground.)
(Leo looks surprised at Zankou. Zankou sighs and walks over to Leo.)
ZANKOU: We both have the same problem, you and I. Neither of us trusts this
new world ... and we're both gonna have to do something about it.
(Zankou walks up to Leo and takes ahold of Leo's collar in a firm grip.)
(He flames both of them out of the apartment.)
CUT TO:
[EXT. THE BAY MIRROR (STOCK) - DAY]
[INT. BAY MIRROR - BULLPEN - DAY]
ELISE ROTHMAN: Phoebe, what are you doing here? I thought it was your day off.
(Elise finds Phoebe leaning against her office door frame, holding a cup of
coffee.)
PHOEBE: Oh, I just came by to see how things are going. How are things going?
ELISE ROTHMAN: (smiles) They aren't. And that's good. Have you seen today's
paper? (Elise picks one up and shows it to Phoebe.) Thinnest one we've ever
had. There's no crime to speak of, no corruption, no scandal. It's like people
have been taking happy pills. Thank god the obits are up, otherwise we'd just
have a one-sheet.
PHOEBE: So, maybe things are just getting better, huh?
ELISE ROTHMAN: Oh, I'm all for that, but I've been working here so long, I
don't believe it. Something always happens.
PHOEBE: Maybe. Or maybe it's a shame when we don't trust when good things
happen.
(Elise grabs Phoebe's arm and pulls her into the bullpen.)
ELISE ROTHMAN: What a nice thought. Now, you should write about that in your
next column. Best advice you could give your readers.
PHOEBE: (sighs) Okay, but I got to go home to do it. Tell Oliver I'll e-mail
it to him around six-ish, okay?
ELISE ROTHMAN: Oliver -- that's the only bad thing that happened today. Well,
not bad for him, of course, just for us.
PHOEBE: What happened?
ELISE ROTHMAN: Well, I got a call from his family about an hour ago. He's
gone. It happened early this morning.
PHOEBE: Oh, my god.
ELISE ROTHMAN: He was such a troubled young man. I really hoped he could turn
things around.
PHOEBE: Yeah, me, too.
ELISE ROTHMAN: (cheerfully) Well, at least we can take heart that he's in a
much better place now.
(Elise turns and leaves Phoebe with those lingering, troubling words. Somehow,
the thought doesn't ease Phoebe's mind.)
PHOEBE: Yeah. I guess so.
CUT TO:
[INT. EGYPTIAN TOMB - DAY]
(Zankou and Leo walk along the inside of an old Egyptian tomb. They carry lit
torches illuminating the various archaic paintings on the wall.)
LEO: Mind telling me where we are?
(Leo looks around at the paintings on the wall as he follows Zankou, listening
to his explanation.)
ZANKOU: An ancient tomb in an ancient pyramid where no one, especially not the
avatars, are gonna look for us.
LEO: Why bring me here?
ZANKOU: To show you the truth. To show you why you never should have turned
your back on the Elders. And to decide whether or not you're willing to help me
stop the Avatars.
LEO: Why would I help a demon?
ZANKOU: Because it is by far the better of your options. You could either work
to change things back or you can repeat the mistakes of the past.
(Zankou walks up to the far wall covered from floor to ceiling with ancient
hieroglyphics. Leo walks up and stands next to Zankou who stares at the wall.)
ZANKOU: The Avatars were here before, thousands of years ago, when people
believed in magic and demons.
(The camera pans across the pictures on the wall telling the story of what
happened in ancient history.)
ZANKOU: The Avatars promised to rid them of evil. On that level, same as now,
they were more or less successful. They remade the world, but they never told
people of the ultimate cost.
LEO: Who's that, the dog-headed figure? Is that a demon?
ZANKOU: Actually, that's a jackal's head. He is Anubis, the egyptian guardian
and protector of the dead.
(cc) LEO: What's that mean?
(Zankou walks to the center of the room.)
ZANKOU: It means there's a price to pay for Utopia. A price that you suspect,
but don't yet know about. They knew about it, though, and they rose up against
the Avatars and stopped them the first time, for good reason.
LEO: Maybe so, but I'd never -
ZANKOU: (interrupts) Agent Brody realized the danger the Avatars posed, too.
That's why he was willing to help me weaken them so that I could bring you here,
so that you could help. He was willing to sacrifice everything to stop them.
LEO: Brody was crazed.
ZANKOU: (firmly) Brody was right. You know, deep down, that there is
something very wrong with this world, Leo. Something you never foresaw in your
own myopic zeal to try and make it all better. People have no free will
anymore. At least not completely. The Avatars now dictate their destinies ...
and you ... let it happen. The question is, are you willing to fix it?
LEO: To do what? Get back what we had before? Fight your kind again?
ZANKOU: Well, nobody said the system was perfect, did they? But it's better
than this, isn't it? (Leo turns and looks at the wall of ancient hieroglyphs.)
You decide for yourself, but decide soon. If we're to work together, we're
gonna have to move quickly.
(Leo's got it. He tosses the lit torch aside and orbs out.)
(Alone, Zankou walks up to the wall.)
CUT TO:
[INT. AVATARS' COMMAND CENTER - DAY]
(Leo orbs into the command center where the other avatars are gathered. Gamma
sees him and motions to Alpha.)
(Alpha turns around.)
ALPHA: Ah, Leo, welcome. How are the sisters? Content, I trust?
(Leo stands in the back of the room. In the center of the room, Gamma, Alpha
and the other avatars are standing around a circular lit table. In the very
center of the circular table are holographic images of the various places around
the world.)
LEO: They seemed okay. (Alpha nods.) What is this place?
ALPHA: This is where we maintain Utopia. Come.
(Leo reluctantly approaches.)
ALPHA: These are The Others. You've felt them, though you haven't yet met.
(Leo steps up to the circular lit table.)
LEO: What are they doing?
GAMMA: Monitoring for conflict.
(The hologram in the center settles on a woman arguing. The blonde-haired
female avatar turns and looks at the dark-haired avatar standing next to her.
He shakes his head. She turns and looks at the other avatars standing around
the table. A knowing look passes to each other.)
LEO: I don't understand.
ALPHA: In bringing this all about, we've modified the way people think, their
belief systems, so that they could more easily accept a world without evil, so
that they wouldn't keep looking for it.
GAMMA: And so that the demons who remained couldn't influence them into evil
acts.
ALPHA: Unfortunately, however, some have already been damaged beyond hope.
Their inner demons sometimes surface, causing ... conflict.
GAMMA: And when that conflict passes a certain threshold, we must deal with it.
ALPHA: To protect Utopia.
(Again, in the center of the hologram, the image shows two men in an alley fist
fighting and yelling.)
DISSOLVE TO:
[EXT. ALLEYWAY - NIGHT -- CONTINUOUS]
(The two men punch each other. A small crowd has gathered to watch the fight.
Trash cans clatter as the men stumble into the garbage stacked in the alley.)
(One of the men picks up a trash can lid and hits the other man with it. The
second man falls to the floor.)
(Suddenly, right before the crowd's eyes, the two fighting men vanish.)
(The crowd immediately disburses.)
[INT. AVATARS' COMMAND CENTER - DAY -- CONTINUOUS]
(Camera pulls out and we see the crowd disbursing in the holograph image back in
the Avatars' Command Center.)
(Leo looks stunned by what just happened.)
LEO: Wait! You killed them.
GAMMA: We removed them. The One for the Many.
ALPHA: We have an obligation to maintain the world that we've created, Leo. We
can't let anything threaten it ... and we won't.
(Camera holds on Leo.)
FADE OUT.
(COMMERCIAL SET)
FADE IN.
[EXT. HALLIWELL MANOR (STOCK) - DAY]
[INT. MANOR - DINING ROOM -- DAY]
(The door opens. Phoebe returns home and closes the front door behind her.)
(She turns, heads inside and sees the dining room table.)
PHOEBE: Oh, wow.
PHOEBE: Wow! Ooh!
(She heads over to the table to sample the food.)
PIPER: No, no! No!
(Piper stops her.)
PIPER: No touchy-touchy.
PHOEBE: I just want to make sure it's not poisoned.
PIPER: No, I want everything to be perfect. We've waited a long time for this
day.
PHOEBE: Piper, everything is perfect. It looks amazing. I can't believe you
did all this since I left.
PIPER: Well, when I'm not mixing vanquishing potions all the time, I tend to
get a lot more done. I forgot how much I like cooking.
PHOEBE: We're all good.
PIPER: Yeah, as long as Leo makes it to the party.
PHOEBE: I thought he was just going over to Paige's.
PIPER: I did, too, but she came back without him, and now she's upstairs
getting ready.
PHOEBE: Well, maybe he had some Avatar stuff to do? Hmm.
PIPER: Hmm. I hope the Avatars don't keep him as busy as the Elders did.
PHOEBE: I don't think he'd put up with that, Piper, and you know it. He
created this better world so that you guys could be together again, as a family.
PIPER: Still ... I worry.
PHOEBE: And next to cooking, that's the second thing you do best.
(Paige walks down the stairs nd joins them.)
PAIGE: Hey.
PHOEBE: Hey. How ya doin'?
PAIGE: Better. Thanks. Yeah. I am really looking forward to this party, you
know? Take my mind off stuff. I just need to remind myself Kyle's in a better
place, right?
PHOEBE: Yeah, that's what I have to remind myself. This guy at work - he ...
just went away. It was really unexpected.
PIPER: Well, I'm sure it must all be for the best, you know, otherwise, it
wouldn't have happened.
(Paige nods.)
PHOEBE: Right.
PIPER: (to Phoebe) Well, anyway ... why don't you go help the kids get
dressed? Their clothes are laid out. (to Paige) And you can help me in the
kitchen. Come on, chop-chop. We have a party to throw.
(Piper turns to get busy.)
CUT TO:
[INT. EGYPTIAN TOMB - DAY]
(Zankou steps up to the wall. Behind him, he hears Laygan shimmer into the
room.)
ZANKOU: I'm concentrating.
LAYGAN: Yes, I'm sorry. This is important.
ZANKOU: So is this. Somewhere in these drawings is the key to the potion Brody
used against the Avatars.
LAYGAN: Well, I'm glad to see that you're using your energy wisely, but some of
the others are restless. They don't want to sit around and die like dogs while
we wait around for the help of someone good.
(Zankou turns around to face Laygan.)
ZANKOU: Are you questioning my plan?
LAYGAN: No, not at all. Zankou, we're demons. We need to stand up and fight
them on our own, not just sit around ... and wait.
ZANKOU: That's just the point. We can't fight on our own. We don't have the
power. Like it or not, our fate rests with Leo.
LAYGAN: Oh, yeah? Then we'd rather die than leave our trust in the hands of an
Elder.
ZANKOU: Then we will surely die. You tell the others that they do as I say
when I say it, or the Avatars will be the least of their problems. Do you
understand me?
LAYGAN: Yes.
(Zankou senses something.)
ZANKOU: Now leave. He's coming.
(Laygan shimmers out of the room.)
CUE SOUND: ORBING
(Zankou smiles.)
(He turns around to face Leo.)
ZANKOU: Welcome back, partner.
LEO: We're not partners.
ZANKOU: Oh, no? Then what are you doing here?
LEO: I'm still not so sure.
ZANKOU: Ah, yes, you are. You may not want to be sure, but that doesn't change
the fact that everything I told you about your precious Avatars is true. And
now you want to stop them just as much as I do.
LEO: I'm not so eager to bring demons back into the world.
ZANKOU: Ah, but there's the rub. Which world is worse? Which is the greater
evil -- mine or theirs?
LEO: Well, I know taking destiny out of people's hands is not right, no matter
what.
ZANKOU: I couldn't agree more.
LEO: Let's make something clear. If we succeed, we'll still be enemies, and I
can make you a promise--it will only be a matter of time before good defeats
evil.
ZANKOU: Well, we'll have to see about that, won't we? Now, if we're finished
with the macho posturing, let's get to work.
(Zankou brushes past Leo and heads over to the wall. He looks at it, then turns
to Leo.)
ZANKOU: The problem is, even if I decipher these, we're still gonna need The
Charmed Ones to actually prepare the potion.
LEO: They won't go against the Avatars. They wanted this world.
ZANKOU: Not if they discover the catch. Not if they realize that the Avatars
alone decide who lives or dies. Now, of course, you know the sisters better
than I do, but ... I doubt even they want that. Which means you're gonna have
to get them to see what the Avatars don't want them to see, even if it will take
you shocking them with another terrible loss.
(Leo's brow furrows. But the two men look at each other and they both know what
must be done.)
WHITE FLASH TO:
[INT. MANOR - WYATT'S BEDROOM - DAY]
(Phoebe gives Baby Chris a toy to play with in his playpen.)
PHOEBE: Okay, you wait there.
(She straightens to get Wyatt dressed. She picks up a pair of shoes and heads
over to Wyatt.)
PHOEBE: We are gonna have so much fun today! You're gonna meet so many new
friends at the party. But you can't orb, okay? You have to promise me. We
don't want to scare the guests away, got it?
CUE SOUND: ORBING
(Wyatt turns and sees Leo orbing into the bedroom. Phoebe turns and looks at
Leo.)
PHOEBE: Like that.
LEO: Phoebe, we need to talk.
PHOEBE: Yeah. You need to get ready for the party before your wife kills you.
Figuratively speaking, of course.
LEO: See, that, right there, that's what I'm talking about.
PHOEBE: What are you saying?
LEO: I'm talking about the fact that what you said, you felt like you had to
qualify it.
PHOEBE: Qualify what?
LEO: I'm talking about the Avatars and what they've done to you, what they've
done to everybody.
PHOEBE: They've made everything better. You've made everything better.
LEO: No, that was a mistake, okay, and I realize that now. And I need you to
realize that, too, before what happened to Brody happens to somebody else we
care about.
PHOEBE: Leo, you're scaring me.
LEO: Good. You need to be scared, because it's the only way you're gonna
understand the truth. The only way you're gonna be able to feel it.
(cc) PHOEBE: I don't understand.
LEO: But you can understand, Phoebe, that's the point. And you can help Piper
and Paige understand, too. You can use your powers to feel the loss, to see
that what the Avatars are doing is wrong.
PHOEBE: Leo, this is what we all wanted. What's going on?
(Leo sighs. He heads over to the baby monitor and turns it on.)
LEO: You'll see.
PHOEBE: What -- what are you doing
(He takes Phoebe by her wrist and orbs her out of the bedroom.)
[INT. BRODY'S APARTMENT - DAY - CONTINUOUS]
(Leo and Phoebe orb into Kyle's apartment.)
PHOEBE: Leo, you can't just -
(She stops and looks around, realizing that they're in Kyle's apartment.)
(Leo picks up the snow globe from the floor.)
PHOEBE: Wh-what are we doing here?
LEO: I need you to get a vision. I need you to see what really happened to
Agent Brody.
PHOEBE: I know what really happened to him. He's moved on to a better place.
LEO: Maybe so ... but it doesn't change the fact that somebody killed him.
(He holds the snow globe out for her to take.)
PHOEBE: Well ...
(Phoebe glares at Leo, then sighs.)
(She takes the snow globe from him and closes her eyes. Immediately, she sees
something.)
(Quick flash of: [INT. BRODY'S APARTMENT - DAY] Kyle raises the potion.
Beta's eyes widen. She throws a stream of electricity at Kyle. Kyle drops the
potions bottle as he's thrown across the room. He hits the kitchen counter and
falls to the floor with a thud.)
(Paige kneels down next to him.)
(End of Vision. Resume to present.)
PHOEBE: Oh, my god. She killed him.
LEO: Yes. The Avatars don't want you to know that, Phoebe. They don't want you
to know why people just suddenly disappear.
PHOEBE: Leo, why are you doing this?
LEO: Because it's the truth, Phoebe. They changed you so you couldn't feel the
true pain of death. They want it to seem like it's a good thing, so the next
time it happens, you don't even question it.
PHOEBE: No.
LEO: Yes, and it's gonna happen again, Phoebe. As soon as they decide somebody
in the world is creating too much conflict.
PHOEBE: Leo, we're not going back to the way it was. Okay? We tried it for
seven years and it just didn't work.
LEO: Phoebe, please.
PHOEBE: (interrupts firmly) No, Leo, listen to me, okay? We made the world a
better place, and we're gonna live in it just the way it is now. Do you
understand?
DISSOLVE TO:
[INT. AVATARS' COMMAND CENTER - DAY -- CONTINUOUS]
(Leo's image is on the hologram in the center of the circular table. The other
avatars watch.)
(Gamma looks at Alpha.)
ALPHA: We just need to give him more time to understand.
GAMMA: We're running out of time. If he turns them, everything could be lost.
I think it's time we face the facts.
CUT TO:
[INT. MANOR - DINING ROOM / CONSERVATORY / SITTING ROOM - DAY]
(The party is in full swing. People are gathered around the lusciously filled
food table.)
(Camera fluidly moves from the dining room through the conservatory where other
people are busy talking. A couple of children run across the conservatory and
into the sitting room.)
(Camera follows the children into the sitting room where Piper and Paige have
set up a small playpen for Baby Chris. Paige hands a baby blanket to Piper.)
PAIGE: Would you just stop fussing and enjoy yourself already?
(Piper looks around and folds the blanket.)
PIPER: I can't. I'm worried.
PAIGE: About what? Look, everybody seems to be having a great time. I didn't
even know we knew this many people.
PIPER: I'm not worried about them, I'm worried about Leo. He should have been
here by now. Where the heck is Phoebe? She got the boys ready and then she
just took off.
PAIGE: Well, maybe they're together, or maybe you just don't know how to have a
good time anymore.
PIPER: Is that a challenge?
PAIGE: If it works.
(Paige looks over and sees Phoebe and Leo descending the stairs. She turns to
Piper.)
PAIGE: There. You happy?
(Piper heads over to Leo. Phoebe rushes past Piper and heads over to Paige.)
PHOEBE: I need a drink.
PIPER: Hey, what's the matter?
PHOEBE: I don't want to talk about it. I just want to have a good time.
(Phoebe turns and sees the waitress walk by with a tray of filled wine glasses.)
PHOEBE: Oh.
(Phoebe follows the Waitress.)
CUT TO:
(Piper stands in front of Leo.)
PIPER: What's going on?
(Leo looks around nervously as if waiting for something to happen.)
LEO: Nothing.
(Paige walks up to them.)
PAIGE: (smiles) Hey ...
(Neither Leo or Piper says anything. Piper turns and looks at Paige as if she's
just interrupted something. Paige gets the hint.)
PAIGE: All right, then, I'll go mingle.
(Paige nods and leaves.)
(Alone again, Piper turns to Leo.)
PIPER: Leo, come on, what's wrong?
LEO: It's complicated.
PIPER: It's the Avatars, isn't it? Look, if working for them is gonna be as
complicated as working for The Elders, then I --
LEO: It's not that.
PIPER: Then what is it? (Before he can answer, Piper interrupts.) Okay, you
know what? I don't want to know. We're here to celebrate
(Just then, Zankou flames into the conservatory.)
PIPER: ... our new life with no magic ...
(Over Piper's shoulders, Leo sees him in the conservatory.)
PIPER: ... and no demons, ...
(Just behind Zankou, Laygan and two more demons shimmer into the conservatory.)
PIPER: ... so why don't we just enjoy it?
(Piper sees Leo's look and turns, glancing behind her. She doesn't see them.)
(Piper turns back to Leo who is completely focused on the demons and what he's
about to do.)
PIPER: Leo, did you hear what I said?
(Zankou nods at Leo, then flames out leaving Laygan and the other demons
behind.)
PIPER: Are you listening to me? (She throws up her hands.) What is the matter
with you?
LEO: Forgive me, Piper. If there was another way to do this, I would.
PIPER: Do what? What are you talking about?
(He looks at Piper.)
LEO: (deadly serious) I have to fix a mistake. I love you.
(beat)
(Leo pushes Piper aside.)
PIPER: Leo!
LEO: (shouts) Everyone get down!
(Everyone ducks.)
(Leo throws streams of electricity at Laygan and the two demons in the
conservatory. He misses and blows up the furniture instead.)
(Party guests scream as they take cover.)
(Piper and Paige watch, completely surprised by what's going on.)
(Phoebe looks around.)
PHOEBE: Oh, no.
(Leo steps aside to go after the demons.)
(Party guests duck behind the dining room table.)
(A horrifying thought occurs to Piper.)
PIPER: Paige, the children!
(Piper turns and heads for the sitting room.)
(Laygan and the two demons slide back into position in the conservatory. Laygan
throws a fireball at Leo.)
(Leo ducks. It misses him and hits the painting on the hallway wall behind him
instead.)
(Demon 2 throws a fireball and hits the light fixture on the wall.)
(People scream.)
(Leo stands up.)
(Phoebe runs to get to the other side of the room.)
(A fireball nearly hits her, but she ducks behind the couch and it hits the
couch instead.)
PHOEBE: Aah!
(Leo again blasts the demons with streams of electricity. Two of the demons
surrounding Laygan blow up and explode leaing Laygan alone. He looks to either
side and sees them gone.)
LAYGAN: Die, Elder, die!
(Laygan throws a fireball at Leo.)
(Leo blasts the fireball and throws electricity at Laygan, pushing him up
against the wall. Finally, Laygan explodes.)
(It's done.)
(Leo looks around to make sure that everyone is all right. He sees Paige and
Wyatt, and Piper and Chris safe.)
[INT. AVATARS' COMMAND CENTER - DAY -- CONTINUOUS]
(Leo's image is on the hologram in the center of the circular table. The other
avatars watch as Leo looks around.)
(The camera pans up and we see Gamma and Alpha watching the holographic image
with grim looks on their faces.)
(Clearly, Leo has gone too far.)
(Gamma and Alpha look at each other.)
(Alpha doesn't have anything to say.)
CUT TO:
[INT. MANOR - MAIN HALL - DAY -- CONTINUOUS]
(Leo looks at Phoebe.)
LEO: (instructs) Don't let them make you forget why I'm doing this, Phoebe.
It's supposed to hurt. Go to the Book, remember all the losses, then go to
Zankou.
PHOEBE: Wait. Zankou?
(As she looks at Leo, Leo vanishes from existence ... right before her eyes.)
(It's over.)
(Phoebe looks over the couch. The party guests start standing up. They
continue their conversations with each other as if nothing ever happened to
disrupt it.)
(The guests in the dining room stand up and pick up their plates to get food off
the table.)
PAIGE: (o.s.) Piper, ...
(Phoebe turns and sees Paige walk over to Piper carrying Baby Chris.)
PAIGE: Are you all right?
PIPER: Uh, I don't know. I guess so.
(Paige takes Baby Chris from Piper who appears a little stunned ... and she
doesn't know why.)
PAIGE: I'm really sorry about Leo.
PIPER: Yeah, me, too ... but at least he's gone on to a better place.
(Hearing this, Phoebe stares at Piper knowing her reaction is very, very wrong.)
FADE OUT.
(COMMERCIAL SET)
FADE IN.
[INT MANOR - MAIN HALL -- DAY]
(The party is over. Paige is standing near the open door as the guests leave.)
PAIGE: I'm so sorry things got out of hand, guys.
(Piper is in the dining room carrying a used plate. Phoebe follows her around
the table.)
PHOEBE: Don't you think that was all a little weird?
PIPER: Yeah, it was kind of touch-and-go there for a second with the demon
attack, but it all worked out okay.
PHOEBE: Still, it seemed a little, I don't know, off.
(In the background, we hear the children crying. Piper gathers more used plates
around the table.)
PIPER: Well, I certainly wasn't expecting any more attacks, but thank God Leo
was there to take care of it.
PHOEBE: Yes, but it would have been nice if Leo didn't have to go to a better
place in the process, you know?
PIPER: I know, but ... what he did, he did for his family. And for that I will
always love him.
(The children's crying continues.)
(Piper takes the used plates and heads into the kitchen. Phoebe follows her.)
[INT. MANOR - KITCHEN - DAY - CONTINUOUS]
(Piper and Phoebe walk into the kitchen.)
PIPER: Paige, could you make sure the boys are okay?
PHOEBE: It's really impressive that you can stay so calm after such a shock.
(Piper puts the plates in the sink.)
PIPER: Well, I'd be freaking out if I thought there were more demons out there.
I'd like to think those days are finally behind us.
(Paige walks into the kitchen and groans. In the background, the children
continue to cry.)
PAIGE: (groans) Oh ... I can't make them stop. They're so upset.
(Phoebe turns and looks at Paige.)
PIPER: Well, it's understandable. We're all upset about demons being in the
house.
(Phoebe whirls around on Piper.)
PHOEBE: You really think that's why they're crying?
PAIGE: What else would it be?
PIPER: Okay! Mommy's coming!
(Piper heads out of the kitchen. Phoebe turns around and sighs. Paige looks at
Phoebe.)
PAIGE: You okay?
PHOEBE: I don't know.
PAIGE: It's like Kyle, you know? It's really a big deal. But we're never
gonna forget him.
LEO: (echoy v.o.) Don't let them make you forget why I'm doing this, Phoebe.
(Quick flash of: Leo.)
LEO: (echoy) It's supposed to hurt.
(End of flash.)
PHOEBE: (softly to herself) Never forget. (suddenly, louder) I have to check
the Book of Shadows for something.
(Phoebe rushes out of the kitchen.)
[INT. MANOR - ATTIC - DAY - CONTINOUS]
(Phoebe walks into the attic. She stops and looks at the Book of Shadows on the
bookstand. For a moment, she hesitates, almost afraid of what she's going to
find.)
PHOEBE: Come on, Phoebe.
(Phoebe walks slowly toward the Book and stops when she reaches it.)
LEO: (echoy v.o.) Remember all the losses.)
(Phoebe places bother her hands on the Book of Shadows and suddenly, she
remembers everything.)
(Phoebe gasps.)
(Quick flashes of:
[Scene from 1X22: Dj vu All Over Again]
(Andy bursts into the house, his gun drawn. Inspector Rodriguez turns and
throws an energy ball at Andy. It hits him square in the chest.)
ANDY TRUDEAU: No!
(Andy is thrown high up into the living room where he crashes against the far
wall cabinet.)
Cut to:
[Scene from 3X17: Pre-Witched]
(Grams is on the stairs when she feels a sharp pain in her chest. She collapses
down to the bottom of the stairs.)
Cut to:
[Scene from 5X08: A Witch in Time]
(Phoebe rushes forward and finds Miles on the sidewalk dead.)
Cut to:
[Scene from 2X12: Awakened]
(Piper is on the hospital bed, dead. The doctors defib her to get her heart
going again. The monitor next to the bead flatlines.)
Cut to:
[Scene from 4X01: Charmed Again]
(Prue's funeral name plate:
PRUDENCE HALLIWELL
1970-2001
(Phoebe sits next to Cole and cries.)
(Piper and Leo cling to each other and cry.)
Cut to:
[Scene from 6X23: It's a Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad World]
(Leo kneels down next to the bed as Chris dies.)
Cut to:
[Scene from 4X20: Long Live the Queen]
(The Charmed Ones trap Cole in a crystal cage.
COLE: No. NO!
(He explodes.)
(End of flashes. Resume to Phoebe.)
(Phoebe takes a deep breath feeling all the pain of the losses of family and
loved-ones over the years.)
PHOEBE: Oh, my god.
(In the background, we hear the children crying.)
[INT. MANOR - MAIN HALL / SITTING ROOM - DAY - CONTINUOUS]
(Paige is sitting on the couch holding Baby Chris while Wyatt sits next to her
and cries.)
PAIGE: (to the children) It's okay.
(Phoebe rushes down the stairs and heads toward them.)
PAIGE: (to Phoebe) Oh, my gosh, we can't get them to calm down. Even Piper
couldn't.
PHOEBE: I can. Where is Piper?
PAIGE: She's in the kitchen, but -
(Phoebe turns and heads for the kitchen.)
[INT. MANOR - KITCHEN - DAY - CONTINUOUS]
(Piper is cleaning up, calm as can be. Phoebe walks into the kitchen.)
PHOEBE: Piper, I really need to talk to you. The Avatars didn't tell us
everything up front.
PIPER: What?
PHOEBE: Pain, grief, mourning -- these are all things that we're supposed to be
feeling when we lose someone we love -- like Leo.
PIPER: Leo? Uh, Phoebe, he's moved on to a better place, and if you don't
mind, I'd rather not dwell on such a painful memory.
PHOEBE: Okay, but if he's in a better place, then why are the boys crying right
now? It's not because of demons. They were practically raised around them.
PIPER: Yes, well, but -
PHOEBE: Piper, listen to me. Leo is dead. The Avatars killed him. And the
boys are just too young to feel it the way that we do, the way we were
programmed to feel it.
PIPER: Programmed? Phoebe, what's gotten into you?
PHOEBE: This is what Leo was trying to show us. Leo allowed the Avatars to
kill him so that we could understand what's going on here.
PIPER: I don't want to hear this.
(The children continue to cry. Piper turns away from Phoebe. Phoebe pushes
forward, pressing Piper to feel the grief.)
PHOEBE: I know you don't want to hear this, but listen to your boys. That's
pain, and it's real.
PIPER: Phoebe, stop.
(Piper shakes her head, not wanting to believe any of it. With the truth of
Phoebe's words, also comes the overwhelming grief.)
PHOEBE: Piper, how can you not see it? The only reason you're okay with all of
this was because you wanted to be with Leo. And now they've taken him away?
(Piper starts to cry.)
PIPER: Why?! Why would they do that?
PHOEBE: (softly) Because Leo caused conflict. And this is the only way they
could keep Utopia going.
(Piper stares at Phoebe.)
CUT TO:
[INT. BRODY'S APARTMENT - DAY]
(Paige, Piper and Phoebe orb into Kyle's apartment.)
PAIGE: You guys better have a good reason for bringing me here, because I don't
want to be here.
PHOEBE: And that's exactly why we are here. Paige, Kyle died, and now it's
time that you feel it.
PAIGE: I felt it! And it would've felt a lot worse if I didn't know he'd gone
on to a better place.
PIPER: Well, that's the thing. It should have felt a lot worse. The Avatars
made our pain go away after they killed Kyle.
PHOEBE: I had a vision ... of him dying ... when I touched this.
(Phoebe picks up the snow globe.)
PHOEBE: He attacked one of the Avatars with his potion, and she killed him. Do
you remember that, Paige?
PAIGE: Why are you doing this to me?
PHOEBE: He died right here ... in your arms. I saw it, I felt it, and now you
have to feel it, too. Paige, it's the only way we can stop them.
PAIGE: I don't want to.
PIPER: You have to. Just like I did.
(Paige starts crying.)
PAIGE: I don't want to.
(Piper walks over to Paige and holds her.)
PIPER: Shh. It's okay.
PAIGE: Why did they do this?
PHOEE: To give us what we wanted -- what we thought we wanted.
PAIGE: What do we do now?
PHOEBE: We're gonna what Leo said ... and go find ourselves a demon.
CUT TO:
[INT. AVATARS' COMMAND CENTER - DAY]
(The Avatars watch the Charmed Ones in Kyle's apartment.)
(Alpha and Gamma look at each other.)
[INT. EGYPTIAN TOMB - DAY]
(Zankou stands in front of the wall with the ancient hieroglyphs on it. He
reaches out and touches the painting of Anubis. He starts peeling the cobwebs
away from the painting.)
(It's obvious that he's been there a long time. Waiting.)
(Behind him, a minion demon steps up to Zankou.)
MINION: (nervously) Sorry to interrupt, but, um--
ZANKOU: What is it?
MINION: Well, the others sent me to, um ... find out what we're gonna do.
ZANKOU: Do?
MINION: Well, I just mean ... Well, the Elder is dead. The plan has failed.
Shouldn't we ... retreat?
ZANKOU: Not yet.
MINION: But you said it yourself. If the Elder couldn't turn the sisters, then
there is no --
(Tired of being doubted, tired of waiting, tired of everything, Zankou grabs the
minion by his ragged shirt.)
ZANKOU: I know what I said. I also know that Leo wasn't stupid. He wouldn't
have given his life unless he knew something would come of it.
MINION: Ah. Unless it was merely the act of a desperate man.
(Zankou raises his hand and a flaming ball appears in his palm.)
MINION: I'm just sayin' ... The Avatars could move on us at any time. If we
are gonna run, we should go soon.
(Zankou shakes his hand and the fireball disappears.)
ZANKOU: Perhaps you're right.
(He lets go of the minion's shirt. Zankou turns and walks a little, his back to
the minion.)
ZANKOU: We should retreat.
MINION: I'll let the others know --
(Suddenly, the minion explodes. A second explosion follows extremely close to
Zankou. Taken by surprise, Zankou turns around, but is thrown by the second
explosion.)
(He hits the hard ground with a thud.)
(He raises his head and sees The Charmed Ones walk into the tomb.)
PHOEBE: What's the matter, Zankou? Chicken?
(Zankou smiles, more than pleased to see them.)
FADE OUT.
(COMMERCIAL SET)
FADE IN.
[INT. EGYPTIAN TOMB -- DAY]
(Zankou stands up and brushes the dust off his jacket.)
ZANKOU: Good thing you girls got here when you did. I was about to leave.
PHOEBE: To go where?
ZANKOU: To live to fight another day.
PIPER: You won't get that chance if you don't tell us what we want to hear.
ZANKOU: Save it. You need me. That's why Leo sent you. Glad to see he didn't
die in vain after all.
(At the mention of Leo's death, Piper looks down.)
PHOEBE: Get to the point.
ZANKOU: The point is ... that Leo was working with me, same as Agent Brody
before him ... to undo what has been done.
PAIGE: Kyle was working with you?
ZANKOU: How do you think he was able to get close enough to kill an Avatar? He
realized then that the combined force of good and evil
PIPER: You have a greater reason for wanting to do that than we do ...
survival.
ZANKOU: True. But then again, you obviously want it, too. Otherwise, we
wouldn't even be having this conversation, now, would we? Now, you go ahead and
talk amongst yourselves. I'm not going anywhere.
(Zankou steps back. Paige, Phoebe and Piper confer.)
PAIGE: I'm not so sure about this.
PHOEBE: Neither am I, but I don't think we have a choice. We're running out of
allies.
PIPER: We can't work with a demon.
PHOEBE: Leo did.
PIPER: Yeah, and look where it got him.
PHOEBE: But that was the Avatars, not Zankou.
PIPER: So how do we know he's not picking us off one by one? What if this is a
setup?
PAIGE: Well, he helped Kyle get rid of an Avatar. They're who he's really
after, and so are we.
PIPER: Okay, fine. So what if this works? Where does that leave us? We're
fighting demons again? Is that what we really want?
PHOEBE: Is this?
PAIGE: Look, just because we wanted it so badly doesn't make it right. Kyle
knew it was wrong. He knew the Avatars couldn't be trusted. I just didn't
believe him.
PHOEBE: Neither did we.
PAIGE: Still, we can believe in him now. Leo, too. We can finish what they
started ... so they didn't die in vain.
(Finished conferring, they turn to face Zankou.)
PHOEBE: So what's the plan?
(Zankou steps up to them.)
ZANKOU: The plan ... is for you to make a very special potion.
CUT TO:
[INT. AVATARS' COMMAND CENTER -- DAY]
(Various view switch rapidly in the hologram in the center of the circular
table. Gamma searches for The Charmed Ones.)
ALPHA: What's the matter?
GAMMA: I can't find the sisters.
ALPH: None of them?
GAMMA: I don't understand. I just had them.
ALPHA: It's all right. They'll have to surface sooner or later.
PIPER: (o.s.) You got that right.
(They look up and find The Charmed Ones standing on the stairs. Zankou stands
just behind them, united with them.)
(The Avatars turn around. A couple of them rush forward.)
(Piper and Zankou motion, each sending an Avatar flying backward away from them.
Alpha and Gamma watch, startled.)
(Several more Avatars step toward them, but Paige raises her hand, a menacing
potions bottle clutched in her grip.)
PAIGE: Uh! I wouldn't do that if I were you.
GAMMA: What are those?
ZANKOU: I think you know what they are.
PHOEBE: And I think you know what he is.
ALPHA: What's the meaning of this?
PIPER: I don't think we have anything to explain. We're not the ones going
around killing people.
GAMMA: We only did what was necessary, to maintain Utopia.
PAIGE: The little loophole you forgot to tell us about?
ALPHA: It was never our intention to deceive, Paige. We merely gave you the
world you asked for.
PIPER: Again, except for the fact that you were killing people.
ALPHA: Their fates are regrettable. But I guarantee you that fewer people by
far will be lost under our rule than under the chaos of good and evil.
PHOEBE: Yeah, but at least with good and evil, people knew what they were dying
for.
PIPER: And given the choice of what we had and what you're offering ...
PAIGE: Now we know what "it" is ...
PHOEBE: We'll take our free will back any day.
ZANKOU: Hear, hear.
(Alpha shakes his head, still not understanding the reasoning. He breaks away
from the group and walks over toward them. Gamma follows.)
ALPHA: You'd seriously be willing to give up peace of mind, the normal life you
so covet ... to go back to the way things were? To fighting the likes of him
again?
(He indicates Zankou.)
PIPER: Warts and all.
(Gamma looks at Alpha.)
GAMMA: They're not ready for us.
ALPHA: Perhaps not. But they will be someday. What we want for the world is
worth waiting for. Very well. We will use what remains of our power to rewind
time to when Utopia began.
PHOEBE: Does that mean Leo will be alive again?
ALPHA: (nods) Of course.
PAIGE: (hopefully) And Kyle?
ALPHA: That, unfortunately, is beyond our powers.
PAIGE: Are you kidding me? You can bring everyone that you have killed back to
life, but Kyle is beyond your powers?
GAMMA: The further something recedes into the past, the more power it takes to
reverse it.
ALPHA: We can either bring back Agent Brody or return the world to the way it
was, but I'm afraid we cannot do both.
(Grief stricken, Paige raises her hand to throw the potion at them. Phoebe
grabs her wrist and stops her.)
(Phoebe lets go. Paige puts her arm down.)
(Phoebe steps forward.)
PHOEBE: Put the world back.
(Alpha nods. Piper steps down and stands next to Paige.)
ALPHA: I'm sorry this didn't work out, for your sakes as well as ours.
ZANKOU: (drolly) Touching. I'm gonna miss you guys.
(The avatars resume their positions around the circular table. From the middle,
a bright beam of light rises out and heads upward into the sky.)
[EXT. SAN FRANCISCO CITY - DAY - CONTINUOUS]
(A beam of light shoots up from the ground, spreads out and moves rapidly across
the city in the opposite direction it went to create this world, it now travels
backward to un-do it.)
[EXT. TOKYO (JAPAN) - NIGHT - CONTINUOUS]
(The moving lights pass backward through Japan.)
[EXT. MOSCOW (RUSSIA) - NIGHT - CONTINUOUS]
(The moving lights pass backward through Russia.)
[EXT. LONDON (UK) - EVENING - CONTINUOUS]
(The moving light passes backward through London.)
[EXT. SAN FRANCISCO CITY - DAY - CONTINUOUS]
(The moving lights have circumnavigated the world, undoing it, and are back in
San Francisco. It's taken them back to the world where people are lying on
sidewalks and streets in slumber.)
(Slowly, the people on the sidewalk stir from their sleep.)
[EXT. SAN FRANCISCO - SIDEWALK CAF - DAY]
(The man and woman asleep on the table both stir. They find their coffee
spilled.)
CAF PATRON 1 (MAN): What the hell? Did you just dump your coffee on me?
CAF PATRON 2 (WOMAN): What are you talking about? You spilled yours on me,
you son of a bitch!
CAF PATRON 1 (MAN): Why, you moron! You dumped your coffee on me!
CAF PATRON 2 (WOMAN): I'm a moron?!
(Phoebe and Piper stand on the sidewalk, watching the arguing and chaos of their
normal world unfold.)
(The van driver exits his vehicle and storms up to the car driver.)
DRIVER (VAN): This is totally your fault!
DRIVER (CAR): My fault? You hit me!
DRIVER (VAN): Yeah?! Well, all I'm saying I you better have some good
insurance!
DRIVER (CAR): No, you better have insurance, 'cause I'm gonna call the cops on
your ass!
DRIVER (VAN): Oh, please! Gimme your I.D., Man! Gimme your I.D., Man!
(Phoebe and Piper turn and see a woman across the street trip and drop her bag
of oranges. The fruit spills out and rolls onto the sidewalk. Several people
pass by without stopping to help her.)
DRIVER (CAR): What? Where's your insurance? Where's your insurance?
DRIVER (VAN): Where's yours, man?
DRIVER (CAR): Mine's right here!
(Phoebe and Piper smile. They turn and see Harold with the officer who has just
given him a ticket.)
HAROLD: I'm going to call my lawyer, okay? I'm going to sue this whole city.
(The officer steps away. Harold gets back into his truck.)
(Piper and Phoebe walk down the sidewalk.)
PIPER: Wow! I've never been so excited to hear the sounds of people arguing.
PHOEBE: Tell me about it. It's good to be back.
(Across the street, Phoebe sees an advertisement board:
ASK PHOEBE
SHE HAS ALL THE ANSWERS
THE BAY MIRROR
READ HER DAILY
(Phoebe and Piper both turn and see Zankou standing on the opposite sidewalk
across the busy street. He smiles at them.)
PHOEBE: Warts and all.
(Zankou raises his hand and motions respectfully to them.)
(Piper still has her reservations, but what's done is done. A bus passes
between them. When the bus passes, Zankou is gone.)
(Phoebe smiles.)
(A small group of arguing college kids walk past behind them. The camera rises
following the two arguing loudly.)
(Camera pans over to the busy street, alive and back to normal.)
CUT TO:
[EXT. VARIOUS SAN FRANCISCO CITY (STOCK) - DAY]
[INT. MANOR - FOYER / CONSERVATORY -- DAY]
(The door opens. Piper rushes into the house.)
PIPER: Leo?
LEO: (o.s.) I'm in here.
(Piper turns the corner and finds Leo sitting in the rocking chair in the
conservatory with the kids.)
PIPER: (relieved) Oh, thank God.
(Leo stands up.)
LEO: It's okay. I'm all right.
(Piper walks into his arms and they hold on to each other.)
PIPER: Wow. You kinda really scared me this time.
LEO: That was the plan. I was banking on you saving me.
PIPER: Okay, well, next time, come up with a different plan.
LEO: (nods) Next time.
PIPER: So, wait. You remember everything even though you technically died ...
but then you didn't because time rewound, so ... am I making any sense?
LEO: Yeah. See, I remember everything because I was unaffected by the spell,
and you remember everything because you broke it. And even though time rewound,
we still experienced it.
PIPER: Headache forming.
LEO: (chuckles) All that matters is that we fixed it, regardless of the
consequences.
PIPER: Consequences. You mean Kyle?
LEO: No. I mean the Elders. I went against them and sided with the Avatars.
It can't go unpunished.
PIPER: Yeah, but everything you did, you did to make the world a safer place
for everyone, including us.
LEO: I don't think they're gonna see it that way. See, no matter what I did --
PIPER: What we did.
LEO: Whether it was well-intentioned or not ... it's gonna cost me.
PIPER: Well, at least it didn't cost you your life, which, at this moment, is
the only thing I'm concerned with. I don't want to lose you ever again.
(Leo reaches out and cups Piper's cheek with the palm of his hand as they look
at each other. Together they both turn and look at their two children.)
CUT TO:
[EXT. BRODY'S APARTMENT BUILDING (STOCK) - DAY]
[INT. BRODY'S APARTMENT -- DAY]
(Paige stands alone in the middle of Kyle's living room. She looks around the
area at the mess. All the packing she did early was reversed. She turns and
sees the snow globe on the table near the window. She picks it up and shakes
it. She watches the small pieces of glitter fall inside the water.)
PAIGE: Goodbye.
KYLE BRODY: (o.s.) Hello, Paige.
(Startled, Paige turns around and finds Kyle standing near the kitchen.)
PAIGE: Kyle?
KYLE BRODY: Careful. That used to mean a lot to me.
(She puts the snow globe down.)
PAIGE: Is this really you?
KYLE BRODY: In the flesh. More or less.
PAIGE: I saw you die.
KYLE BRODY: That's right, you did. But as you know ... Sometimes it doesn't
end there.
PAIGE: Are you ... a whitelighter?
KYLE BRODY: It feels kind of weird. But, uh ... at least I can still feel.
PAIGE: How?
KYLE BRODY: I guess The Elders decided that I must have done something good
with my life after all. Which is a relief, considering the mess I made of it.
PAIGE: You didn't make such a mess.
KYLE BRODY: Come on. I got a little crazy there at the end, didn't I?
PAIGE: (chuckles) A little crazy. But you did save the world.
KYLE BRODY: Hence the reward.
PAIGE: I just wish I could have -
KYLE BRODY: Paige, it's not your fault. I understand now that my life was
supposed to end the way that it did. How it did. It was my destiny. Just like
it was our destiny to meet ... to fall for each other.
PAIGE: ... to lose each other?
KYLE BRODY: Who says we're not gonna meet again?
(Paige cries.)
(Kyle reaches up and kisses Paige on her forehead.)
KYLE BRODY: Take care of that for me, will you?
(Kyle orbs out.)
(Alone again, Paige turns and picks up the snow globe. She looks at it and
smiles.)
